Mental & physical fitness at FLLL?
Fitness is self-care. Fitness is showing up. Fitness is deeper than exercise. Let’s talk about.
When people hear the word fitness they immediately think about exercising. sweating, running, hot yoga, weight lifting or the gym. At Fit Life Lit Life fitness means self-care. Toning, sculpting, building muscle, stretching and/or maintaining your fit in that area. It is important because our mental and physical well-being goes hand and hand. One drives the other. When you show up for yourself mentally you begin to move physically or when you show up for yourself physically you begin to think higher mentally.
You can stretch your mindset by building muscle (positive thinking habits). You can tone your mind but being mindful of the things you continue to tell yourself. Over time, that will strengthen your mindset and discipline will be built. You can maintain your fit but continuing to show up. Mental fitness is about growth, elevation, how you response to yourself, respond to other people, giving yourself grace, and other things in life. Don’t get me wrong, being mentally fit doesn’t mean you do not have moments and you are happy every second of the day. It doesn’t mean do not become overwhelmed, nervous or uncertain. Mental fitness is about building, stretching and toning meaning you are learning how to handle yourself when the unexpected happens. It means you are not letting temporary moments direct your life. As mentioned previously, mental and physical fitness goes hand and hand, therefore think about your mental fitness like your physical fitness. You do not expect to see physical results after 3 days of hitting the gym and clean eating. You don’t workout once and expect to stay physically active forever. Mental fitness works the same way. It requires action, work and showing up.
