How to get back to you and elevate

It’s easier said than done sometimes but it’s not impossible.

Sometimes you do not notice how far you have fallen off until you stop and look at the way you are showing up for yourself. When you can see the copy you might be keeping isn't serving you, the places you’ve been frequenting are below you and the way you once moved is no longer, it is step to get back on your square (L7), get back in your bag and level up.

Falling happens to all of us. Everyone fall off looks different and effectives then different. Rather you fell off from a failed exam, weight gain, a bad break up, rejection, some sort of lose, not being accepted, lack of faith or you don’t know why yet, understand this is temporary. They can only be permanent if you make your fall off a lifestyle. You stopped going on solo dinners, you stopped journaling, your prayer life has stopped, you put no effort into your look, you glow is dull, your confidence is low and you just are not yourself. We are all human, things happen. Here at Fit Life Lit Life we believe in self-care (inner work). the self-awareness and honesty with ones self to help thyself overcome and bounce back better than before. The good thing about things happening and falling off being a result of that is bounce back is beautiful.

When I am on my square, I am in my bag. My morning routine is consistent, my body is looking good, I feel lighter on my feet, my faith is at an all time high, my journal is filled daily, my planner gets all of my ideas, my energy is pouring onto other in the world naturally, my glow is brighter than the sun, my time management is on point, I met a higher level of people and much more. Who I naturally am when I am locked in genuinely inspires, motivates and encourages others to show up for themselves. I have fell off for many reasons. One main reason I fall off is when I am going through a growth spurt. What was working for me is not anymore, who is “around” aren’t genuine, supportive and/or are serving me or a real life incident happen in my life. Getting back does not start with telling someone who 9/10 will not get it. It starts with a mindset shift and prayer. Down below I will share some tips and things to do to help you get back on your square and in your bag. Bounce back better than ever.

Recognized you have fallen off: Ask yourself questions, reflect and be honest with yourself/yourself

  • “How have I been showing up lately?”

  • “Why am I moving and behaving this way?”

  • “When did this down high slope first begin?”

  • “Why am I constantly saying, I don’t feel like.”

  • “Why am I constantly saying, I will start Monday.”

  • “Why am I constantly saying, I will do it tomorrow.”

  • “Why have I lost excitement in myself?”

  • “Why am I not engaging in the things I like, love and enjoy?”

  • “Why am I wasting time I can’t get back like this?”

  • “Did I allow another human to have this much control over me?”

Self-awareness is not about beating yourself up. It is simply about paying attention and learning from it. You might be waiting for magic motivation to kick it or someone to come save but reality is you must save yourself. You are the gas station, the cash, the car and the fuel that belongs in it to go. Sometimes, that is the hardest part. Picking yourself up when you feel your heaviest and pushing through the struggle. Action slowly fills the tank. You will get into drive once you begin to move. Your drive, energy, motivation and want for better will get higher over time. You must start and it is okay to start small.

How to slowly start back your get back: Think about some things you enjoyed

  • Get sunlight/fresh air - A walk or car ride

  • Do a cute makeup look for work today or on Friday

  • Take your lunch to work

  • Cook your favorite meal for dinner

  • Workout (indoors, outdoors, gym, group fitness class)

  • Wear that new clothing (Blazer, jacket, shirt, pants, jeans, bra, underwear, sneakers, heels, accessories)

  • Pray - More prayer more power (Give thanks)

  • Journaling

  • Planner - Create a weekly to do list

  • Solo lunch or dinner

  • Arts and crafts

  • DIY project at home

  • Music - sing, vibe and dance

  • Taking picture (yourself, nature, other people, objects, etc)

  • Event (Comedy show, art gallery, museum, movies, festival, etc)

  • Watch a movie (Comedy, motivational, cute and girlie, action pack)

  • Phone a friend

  • Plan a trip (staycation, out of town, out of state or out of the country)

  • Volunteer work (Give back and support those in your community)

  • Get your hair done (Haircut, new style, new color)

  • Organization (Clean out your trunk, detail your care, sort your paperwork, clean out the pantry, etc)

  • People watch

  • Reading

  • Explore a new city or an old city with new goodies

  • Gardening or farming

  • Sweet snack and park date (Slice of cake, frozen yogurt, smoothie, etc)

  • Visit a new cute cafe (get dressed, bring you planner or book and relax)

These are just a few ideas. Do not try to do everything so fast. The first few weeks I recommend you take your time. Bouncing back can look like doing one of these things per week. Getting back on your square could take time and that is okay. be nice to yourself by giving yourself some grace.

What I recommend week one is sunshine/fresh air and a cafe to create a plan of action for yourself. Get cute and get outside. At Fit Life Lit Life we are all about self-care and having fun during the elevation process. Write down what your bounce back plan looks like. What does feel like yourself again look like. What does building the better than over version on yourself look and feel like. Really take that week to think about it, write it out and read it back to yourself. You plan might include stepping outside once per week. Outside doesn’t mean club/lounge/party. It might look like moving my body 4 days per week for 1 hour and reading daily for 30 minutes per day. The goal is not to be perfect. The pan is to starting moving.

Stop making temporary setback a part of your identity: What happen doesn’t define you

  • A breakup does not make you unlikable or unloveable.

  • A failed exam does not mean you are not smart.

  • Reject from them or that doesn’t mean you aren’t enough

  • Reject is redirection

  • Hearing “no” does not make you unworthy.

  • A disappointing season doesn’t mean you have a disappointing life.

  • A temporary moment is not a permanent invitation to make it a permanent lifestyle.

  • A flawed human should never have control over how to show up and love you yourself. Their lost not yours.

  • Setback mindset - “Nothing ever works out for me.” “It will never happen for me. This is just me life.”

  • Forward thinking mindset: “Okay. That didn’t work, what’s next.” “What’s for me will be with no hurt, stress or questioning.” “I will create a plan because this will happen for me.” “I am beautiful, blessed and able.”

Elevation maintaining to do: Don’t let up

  • Fashion - Think grown and elevated. Have fun with your fashion. Be creative and keep it clean. Think F4 (Fun fly fashion forward) every step of the way.

  • Hair

  • Skin

  • Nails

  • Character

  • Vibe / ora

  • Money - Level it up (Learn, hustle, save, invest)

  • Travel - Solo (Next level), girls trip or with bae

  • Mindset

  • Vocabulary

  • Locations - Yes, new locations being new people and new opportunities.
